Conference Venue
Conference Venue
ECC19 will take place over three buildings located on Naples seafront (Via Partenope 36/38).
Two adjacent buildings, named Royal and Continental, are part of the Hotel Royal Continental and are joined by a corridor placed at the ground floor; the third building is the Centro Congressi Partenope (Partenope Congress Center) of the University of Naples Federico II which is located next door.
The three buildings are next to each other but attendees must consider it takes about 5 minutes to move from one conference building to another and plan accordingly.

Conference rooms are labeled by an initial letter denoting the building where they are located (C for the Continental, P for Centro Congressi Partenope and R for Royal), a number denotes the floor in that building where the room is located and is followed by the room name, e.g. P-3-Sala A3 indicates the room named “Sala A3” which is located on floor 3 of the Centro Congressi Partenope.

Presenters Instructions
The duration of a presentation slot is 20 minutes including time for questions from the audience. Each paper presentation should be 15 mins plus 5 mins for questions and answers.
Please note that all speakers need to upload their slides at least 15 minutes before the beginning of their session on the computer available in the room where the session is being held or earlier on at one of the two slide centres that will be available at the conference venue (one at the Hotel Royal-Continental near the Auditorium and the other at the Centro Congressi Partenope in the building hall). Technical assistance will be available.
Projector and computer will be available in every session room for regular presentations. Please notice that projectors in all rooms have HDMI connections although use of individual personal computers for presentations is not encouraged. Also, the projector in room C-0-Auditorium has a 16:9 ratio so those of you presenting in that room will have to take that into account when setting their presentations (the slide centre can help with any technical problem).
The webpage with the conference site maps will help you to see where the conference rooms are located.
Coffee Breaks
There will be two sites for coffee breaks during the conference. One will be located by the Registration Desk area on the ground floor of the Continental building (C), just outside the Auditorium (room C-0-Auditorium), the other at the “Refreshment area” located on the first floor of the Partenope Congress Center (next to room P-1-Aula Magna).
There are two coffee breaks scheduled during conference days: one in the morning from 9:30 until 10:00 and one in the afternoon from 15:30 until 16:00. Make sure you wear your name badge during all breaks and while participating to the conference.
Lunch breaks are scheduled from 12:00 until 13:30. Lunches are not included in the conference fee. A large number of restaurants are available within walking distance from the Conference site mostly located along the seafront or opposite beneath Castel dell’Ovo. Other restaurants are available in Via Santa Lucia behind the conference site. For further information on the available options please feel free to ask at the Registration Desk.
Hotal Royal Continental and Partenope Congress Center
The Hotel Royal Continental, located along the seafront of Naples, is the main venue in the city centre for meetings, conferences and business gatherings. From the hotel it is easy to explore the city and reach any of the main touristic sites: right in front of the hotel, you’ll see the legendary Castel dell‘Ovo with the Borgo Marinari while at just a short stroll away you will find Piazza del Plebiscito, the largest square in Naples, the Royal Palace, the San Carlo Opera House (the oldest working Opera house in Europe) and the central Via Toledo and Via Chiaia.
The hotel is located in the centre of the large pedestrian area right on the promenade and it is well connected to the rest of the city. It hosts a coffee bar and the Restaurant “al Castello” that can be accessed by conference participants for food and refreshments.
Overall, the Hotel Royal Continental has 397 rooms, including 13 business suites. The Classic rooms, ideal for both business trips and relaxing getaways, are functional, quiet, and classically decorated. Rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi.
The Venue also includes an auditorium for up to 530 people and 16 modular meeting rooms, the rooftop area with panoramic views, a seawater swimming pool with a solarium, and a fitness centre.
Most of the Hotel furnishing and decoration was designed in the late 1950s by the renowned Italian architect Giò Ponti.
The Partenope Congress Center (Centro Congressi Partenope) of the University of Naples Federico II is hosted in the former Faculty of Economics of the University that moved to a new campus in the late 1990s. The center addresses the need of University members and more generally other interested parties for a venue to host small/medium size meetings right in the centre of Naples along its renowned seafront.
From the large atrium, characterized by a monumental staircase, you reach the first floor where you can find the former Aula Magna of the Faculty of Economics and Business, a meeting room with over 148 seats, surrounded by neighboring office spaces, a press room and refreshment area. Further meeting rooms are located on the ground floor and on the third floor of the same building.
